Democracy Player Updated, Random Other Facts

For those of you who recall my December Featured Software, you should note that Democracy Player has been updated.

I fixed the code that caused the left sidebar to load slowly. It was due to a <script> from the Amazon Affiliates program that loaded extremely slowly.

If you haven't noticed by now, my site has the Snap Preview Anywhere functionality installed. That means that as you hover over links, a small pop-up appears showing you a preview of the site. I am waiting for Ajay to update his SPA plugin and then you'll be able to determine which links you want to see pop-ups of (there will be a little icon next to each link).

LibraryThing has also been added to the blog. It's a nice way to have a "web-library" of my books; unfortunately, they cap their free memberships at 200 books, so I'll either have to pay $10 for the yearly membership or come up with some other work around. We'll see. Thanks to Dana's site for bringing me to LibraryThing.

Finally, I've discovered Microformats. After successfully installing the Operator plugin (which is a Mozilla Labs project), I will be working to get Microformats working successfully here on the site. Check it out, read up on it, that type of thing. Maybe you'll discover that its functionality will benefit you as well.

Also, you'll notice the ads are gone from the site again. I guess I got bored with them. Plus they weren't earning me any money. Perhaps they'll show up again later though.
